Jessica's hair will be made into a wig for people who've lost hair to cancer and other conditions - and she wants to raise as much money as possible

A 10 year old girl from Bognor is raising money for cancer charity, the Little Princess Trust and having her long hair cut to donate to them to make a wig for a child undergoing chemotherapy.

As well as donating her long hair Jessica, with support from mum Tracy Hammond aims to raise the £550 required to actually make the wig.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions such as Alopecia.

The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Tracy said it was Jessica's own idea to get her hair cut short: “We thought it would be nice to do something with her beautiful hair so I googled the charity and found out more about the Little Princess Trust.

“Jessica is very keen to reach her target and has her JustGiving page all set up with over £200 raised already.”

Jessica said her friends think it is a lovely idea to donate her hair, “ They are looking forward to seeing my new hair style when we go back to school.”

She will be having her hair cut during the Easter Holidays at Combinations Hair and Beauty.

The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its wonderful supporters who help the charity give Hair and Hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.

Find out how to support Jessica on her charity Facebook page or via JustGiving.
