A man has been charged with raping a 17-year-old boy in St Leonards.
Police received a report that the incident occurred at around midnight at an address in the town on Friday 30 January.
Officers launched an investigation and arrested a man on Monday 2 February.
Glen Hodgins, 38, of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, was charged with the rape and attempted rape of a male aged 16 or over.
He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4 February and was remanded into custody until his next court appearance on 4 March.
Detective Inspector Carol Shoesmith said: “Since we received the report of this incident, we have been working tirelessly to identify a suspect, arrest them, and collate evidence to support our investigation and the court proceedings.
“We understand the strength it takes for victims to come forward to report such offences. The victim continues to receive specialist support as this case progresses.
“I’d like to again share my thanks to the public for their support sharing our appeal to assist in the ongoing investigation.”
