A brand new volunteer group working in the woods, just for women, led by the female Rangers of the National Trust and the South Downs National Park.

In the wooded Downs north of Chichester we’ve launched a woodland group just for women. Led by the female Rangers of the National Trust and South Downs National Park, you could enjoy relaxed conversation, learn new skills & improve your wellbeing in the peace and quiet of the woods.
Our overarching aim is to break down barriers that prevent people from volunteering in the countryside. For example, on average women only make up 20% of our regular volunteer groups across the South Downs.
To do this we have made some deliberate choices. We have chosen woods at Drovers, near Singleton, on the well served no.60 bus route between Chichester and Midhurst. This allows participants to easily get out into the countryside even if they don’t have access to a car. We also run the sessions from 10am-2pm avoiding busy times of day, and allowing participants to meet other responsibilities they might have.
If this appeals to you, come and try it, without obligation. No experience is required and we provide all the tools and comfort you might need. Get in touch southdownscentral@nationaltrust.org.uk
