Join our enthusiastic and friendly team of guides at the RSPB's Pagham Harbour Reserve walking along the North Wall of the harbour from the Salt House. Not very much walking but hopefully lots to see as birds are starting their migrations with the changing season from summer to autumn. The months of August and September are a great time of year to see migratory species passing through. Lots of birds are on their way to Africa for the winter, and after a long busy summer working hard to build nests and raise young in different parts of the UK and Northern Europe, they often need to take a break along their migration route - so this is a great time to spot them here on our reserves! In past years we have seen large numbers of Sand Martins, Swallows and House Martins swooping low over the Breach Pool feeding a magnificent sight. Wheatears, Flycatchers, Whinchat, Yellow Wagtails, even a passing Osprey is not impossible. Our resident Marsh Harriers may also make an appearance.
