The critical roadworks will start Monday 5th December and last until late January next year.
The A27 is to be closed at the A23 Brighton junction for 25 nights with diversions through Hove.
The roadworks, which are said to be "critical to maintaining and improving safety", will include repairs, resurfacing and waterproofing. The works will be done on weeknights between 8.00pm and 5.00am, which is when the road closures will apply.
The diversion map at the moment shows how drivers will have to drive along the A270 as part of the diversion route, as well as along near Preston Park.
The National Highways teams are promising to "make every effort" to minimise the impact on the community and people travelling during these repairs. The roadworks could also take longer than expected due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
