Chichester Waterski Club is proud to announce that Ruby O'Dwyer, a dedicated and talented wakeboarder, has secured a coveted spot on the Team GB wakeboarding squad. Ruby’s inclusion in the national team marks a significant milestone in her six-year wakeboarding career.
Ruby O'Dwyer has been a formidable presence in the wakeboarding scene, culminating in her impressive second-place finish at the 2023 Wakeboard Nationals. Her skill, determination, and passion for the sport have made her a standout athlete at Chichester Waterski Club.
In addition to her competitive achievements, Ruby holds a Level 1 coaching license, enabling her to mentor and inspire young talent. Her commitment to inclusivity in the sport is further demonstrated by her completion of a disability coaching course, allowing her to provide specialised training to athletes with disabilities.
Ruby’s journey and success are closely tied to her training at Chichester Waterski Club under the guidance of Brett Hodgkins, a former world champion (2 x British masters wakeboard champion, bronze medalist wakeboard worlds and former junior world slalom champion, European junior champion overall x 4 years and x 2 British national overall champion) Brett has played a pivotal role in honing Ruby’s skills and preparing her for high-level competition.
