UPDATE: Fire in Littlehampton

Emergency services are at the scene of a house fire in Littlehampton.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to Swanbourne Road, smoke was seen rising from the property.

Police say the incident began at just before 10 am (28/08/2025) with a disturbance in which a man and a woman were injured — both are now receiving treatment.

The road remains closed, nearby homes have been evacuated, and people are being urged to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “We are currently in attendance at an incident in Swanbourne Road, Littlehampton supporting police and ambulance colleagues.”

Sussex Police have issued the following statement: "Emergency services are currently attending a fire at a property in Swanbourne Road, Littlehampton.

"Officers initially attended the address following a disturbance at the property at around 9.50am today (August 28).

"Two people, a man and a woman, sustained injuries during the initial report, and they are receiving medical treatment.

"The road is currently closed and a cordon established, with nearby properties evacuated while West Sussex Fire and Rescue work to extinguish the fire.

"No further information is available at this time."
