Field fire breaks out in Waldron

A major field fire in Waldron has kept East Sussex crews busy.

The blaze broke out in Dern Lane late yesterday morning (12/08/2025), with firefighters in Uckfield, Crowborough, Seaford, Barcombe, and Wadhurst in attendance.

A Spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said: "East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 11.49am on 12 August 2025 to reports of a field fire in Dern Lane, Waldron.

"As of 12.48pm there are three fire engines and three landrovers with crews from Uckfield, Crowborough, Seaford, Barcombe and Wadhurst in attendance.

"Local residents have been advised to close windows and doors and members of the public are being asked to avoid the area.

"Crews continue to tackle the fire. As of 4.00pm on (12/08/2025) the incident is being scaled down to one fire engine."
