A fire investigation is underway after latest fire at Gribble Inn in Oving

Fire investigators are now looking into what caused the blaze in Oving at the Gribble Inn, which broke out at around 5pm today (11/04/2025)

West Sussex Fire & Rescue were called to the blaze at the historic Gribble Inn pub in Oving, Chichester at 16.53 on Friday, 11 April.

Sussex Police immediately blocked roads around the scene so crews could access the building and the public was not in danger.

A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “Five fire engines, one aerial ladder platform and one water carrier were immediately immobilised to the scene with firefighters using breathing apparatus to tackle the fire.

Investigations are now under way into the cause of the latest blaze.

There have been no reports of injuries so far.
