A man from Ford’s triathlon challenge has raised more than £4,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
41-year-old Mark Walford completed 24 triathlons in 24 hours earlier this year.
He handed over a giant cheque to the charity at the Hever Castle Race Series, his final triathlon of the year.
Mark commented: “It’s been an incredible year and a great achievement. I’m really pleased with the final amount raised. I’m going to focus on some personal stuff for a while but then I’m hoping to plan another big fundraising challenge in 2027.”

Almost 982,000 people in the UK are currently living with dementia, according to the latest figures, and that number is expected to rise sharply over the next 15 years. Projections suggest that by 2040, as the population ages, more than 1.4 million people will be affected.
In England, the latest data from December 2024 shows a record 483,000 people aged 65 and over now have a formal dementia diagnosis, according to GOV.UK.
