‘It’s the thrill of the thrift’ Says Social Media Influencer Charity Shop Girl at Worthing Charity's Store

Jen Graham, whose appeared on This Morning advising on buying pre loved clothes went on a hunt for bargains on visits Guild Care stores including superstore the Greenhouse in East Worthing and the boutique branch in George Street Hove.

Worthing based leading social care charity Guild Care had a visit from a social media superstar at three of their popular charity shops yesterday.

Jen Graham, or Charity Shop Girl as she is known on social media, is a charity shop influencer, followed by hundreds of thousands of people across her channels and has recently featured on ITV’s This Morning.

Jen is well known for her love of charity shops and sustainable fashion and is passionate about shopping for pre-loved items. Jen was genuinely impressed with the extensive offerings at the Guild Care charity shops and following her visit to the Greenhouse, she said, ‘that is the biggest charity shop I’ve ever been in, and the most impressive charity shop I’ve ever been in.’

Jen visited Guild Care to hunt through their shops for a fabulous haul of pre-loved fashion and Christmas gifts. She visited Woods Way Charity Superstore in Goring, the recently expanded Greenhouse Superstore and Donation Centre in East Worthing and finished up at their boutique charity shop in George Street, Hove. At Woods Way Charity Superstore, where she loved the well-thought-out layout, she said ‘I loved the layout, everything was in size order, the toy section was amazing, they had electronics, everything you could need was there, it was like a one stop shop and the prices were absolutely spot on.’ Concluding her day at George Street in Hove, Jen said that the store was ‘special, very boutique, beautifully merchandised and I got some real bargains.

The shop is absolutely spotless, and you have to go for a rummage.’ Alex Brooks-Johnson, CEO of Guild Care, said, ‘We are really taking charity shops to the next level and what Jen has done today has really confirmed that we are leading the way in charity retail.’ As a charity, Guild Care aims to reduce social isolation and social stigma. All the money raised in their charity shops helps support older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities in the local community. All the money raised in their charity shops helps support older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities in the local community.
