A man has been jailed for six months after exposing himself at Bognor beach.

Olegas Podolianko, formerly of Elmer Road in Middleton-on-Sea, was seen by witnesses near a children’s play area in April this year.

He exposed himself and was challenged by parents before being arrested by police.

The 53-year-old will also be a registered sex offender for seven years.

Speaking after the case, Arun District Commander William Keating-Jones said: “This was a distressing incident seen by parents with their children.

“We take reports of exposure extremely seriously, and Podolianko was arrested soon after the matter was reported to us.

“We are pleased that this offender is now serving a custodial sentence.”
