A Worthing town-centre building which was formerly home to Argos could gain another storey, according to recently submitted plans.
Plans were submitted to Worthing council on Tuesday, October 14, and if approved would see another storey constructed on top of 97-99 Montague Street, which would contain four flats – three two-bed and one one-bed.
The council had already approved plans for four new flats on the site’s existing first floor.
The additional storey would extend over most of the roof of 97-99, with screening tobe installed at the beach-facing side and access is to be from ‘enhanced rear doors’, according to the plans.
The council is set to give a decision before December 9 this year and plans can be viewed at https://planning.adur-worthing.gov.uk/online-applications/ by searching AWDM/1279/25.
