A contractor has finally been appointed to renovate Bognor's Alexandra Theatre.
Neilcott Construction will carry out the work that's expected to cost more than £15m.
Work is due to start before Christmas, and it's hoped the venue will reopen in mid-2026.
Cllr Martin Lury, Leader of Arun District Council, said: "We are delighted to have started works on the rejuvenation of Alexandra Theatre, the first of a series of projects which will transform Bognor Regis town centre over the next few years. We look forward to welcoming audiences, performers and artistes to our new theatre.
"We are pleased with the steady progress made so far and look forward to sharing more details as we approach the next phase of this exciting project," remarked John Papworth, Regional Director at Neilcott Construction.
