Police and crime plan for Sussex revealed

The Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner has unveiled her new Police & Crime Plan.

Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne has launched her new Police & Crime Plan, setting out key priorities to guide policing in the county through to 2028.

The plan focuses on three core priorities:

  1. Preventing crime and supporting victims and witnesses

  2. Investigating crime and bringing offenders to justice

  3. Improving trust in policing and building public confidence

The strategy was shaped by public consultation as part of Commissioner Bourne’s engagement programme. Residents contributed through polls, surveys, focus groups, public surgeries, and other feedback channels.

Key concerns highlighted by the community include anti-social behaviour, road safety, retail crime, and abuse. The plan addresses each of these issues, alongside measures to increase police visibility and improve communication around successful policing outcomes—factors residents say make a real difference to their confidence in local policing.
