It’s a busy Saturday of football across the South Coast, with several local teams in action both home and away.
In the Premier League, Brighton & Hove Albion face a tough challenge as they travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in a 5:30pm kick-off. The Seagulls will be hoping to build momentum after a mixed run of results, while United look to tighten their grip on a top-four spot.
In the Championship, Portsmouth will be looking for a much-needed boost when they host Stoke City at Fratton Park. Pompey have slipped to 17th in the table after a difficult spell of form, sitting just one place above rivals Southampton, who are away at Blackburn Rovers this afternoon. Both sides will be desperate to pick up points to steer clear of the relegation zone as the season nears its halfway point.
In League Two, Crawley Town welcome Bristol Rovers to Broadfield Stadium for a 3pm kick-off. Crawley will look to capitalise on home advantage as they aim to climb back into the top half of the table.
In non-league action, Hayling United are at home to BTC Southampton in the Hampshire Premier League, while Worthing take on Dover Athletic at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium. Worthing will be in confident mood — they last faced Dover in February last year, coming out on top in a thrilling 6–4 victory.
Chichester City travel to Canvey Island, hoping to return home with valuable points, while Bognor Regis Town host Kingstonian at Nyewood Lane.
Elsewhere, Selsey continue their strong start to the campaign with an away trip to AFC Uckfield. Selsey remain unbeaten in their last three matches and have climbed to 10th in the table — their best run so far this season.
With key games across all levels, it’s shaping up to be an action-packed weekend of football for fans across Hampshire and Sussex.
