UFO's spotted over Gosport

A late-night dog walk in Gosport has turned into something rather more unusual for one local resident, who claims to have spotted not one but two unidentified flying objects in the early hours of Tuesday 9th July 2025.

According to a report submitted to the National UFO Reporting Centre (NUFORC) website, the incident occurred at around 1:15am. The witness, whose name has not been released, described seeing two bright, star-like objects high in the sky. Initially motionless, the lights suddenly began moving rapidly toward each other. Rather than colliding, they reportedly circled one another for a short period before abruptly accelerating away in opposite directions.

The sighting, the report says, lasted for approximately five minutes before the objects disappeared from view.

The National UFO Reporting Centre, based in the United States, collects eyewitness accounts from around the world. Although most sightings turn out to have conventional explanations — such as satellites, drones, aircraft lights, or astronomical phenomena — some reports remain unexplained after investigation. This Gosport case has yet to be analysed in detail.

The timing of the sighting comes amid growing global fascination with unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) — the term now preferred by governments and defence agencies for what the public traditionally calls UFOs. In recent years, the US Congress has held hearings on the subject, prompted in part by declassified US Navy videos showing fast-moving airborne objects that military pilots could not identify.

Such high-profile discussions have led to a surge in public interest, with more people coming forward to share their own observations of strange lights and objects in the sky. Reports have been logged from countries across the globe, with patterns often emerging during warm, clear weather when more people are outdoors at night.

Whether the Gosport sighting turns out to be an example of advanced human-made technology, an atmospheric illusion, or something altogether more mysterious, it joins a growing catalogue of eyewitness accounts feeding the ongoing debate about what might be out there.

For now, the dog walker’s account stands as another entry in NUFORC’s long-running database — a reminder that, even on an ordinary night walk, the skies can sometimes hold extraordinary surprises.
