Appeal following serious collision in Barcombe

Witnesses needed for the motorcycle and pedestrian accident

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a motorcycle and several pedestrians in High Street, Barcombe, at approximately 10:20pm on Saturday, November 19, in the aftermath of the Barcombe bonfire & fireworks display.

A 67-year-old woman from Ditchling, and a 30-year-old woman from East Grinstead were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Three other people, including two children, suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

The motorcycle driver, A 17-year old boy from Barcombe, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.

The road was closed for some time, but has since re-opened. Apologies for any disruption this may have caused.
