The MP for Lewes, James MacCleary, believes that the sanctions imposed on him by President Putin are a sign that he is on the right track with his beliefs and actions.
James MacCleary is one of several politicians in the UK who have been banned from entering Russia because the Russian government claims they have made "hostile statements and false accusations."
MacCleary says "Being targeted by an authoritarian regime that flouts international law and commits appalling atrocities in Ukraine, simply means I’m doing something right".
We’ll now wait and see if the UK government responds to these sanctions from Russia.
According to the Press Release by the Russian Foreign Ministry, this is the list of all newly banned politicians.
